Public Fiction

In June 2010, the Museum of Public Fiction opened its doors. A space for exhibitions and events, Public Fiction organizes itself into three-month long thematic series culminating in a publication. Founded on the principle that graphic design can be an editorial and curatorial venture, the unifying themes vary accord- ing to a shifting public dialogue, but customarily connect contem- porary concerns with the history of Los Angeles, particularly the intersection of fiction and reality particular to Southern California. Founded by designer and curator Lauren Mackler, Public Fiction has been built with a multitude of important confederates including a regular collaboration with the writer Andrew Berardini.
