Philippe Decrauzat

Philippe Decrauzat’s art uses a variety of medias – murals, paintings, installed objects, installations, works on paper…. On limited spectrum of colors, referencing Goethe’s “theory of colors”, Decrauzat elaborates complex geometrical shapes. His abstract painting references the 1960’s Op Art aesthetic. Through his fascination for optic the artist follows his interest for design, cinema, architecture and literature. The artist was born in Lausanne (1974) where he works and lives. He has showed all around the world. “Night is the title of a Tony Smith Sculpture. I was amazed by the work, and its panel and title. I planned to transform this title into a free-standing sculpture, while giving it the appearance and the perspective of a drawing,”  explains the artist about the work he shows in Lost (in LA).
