Germain Hamel was born in 1986 and currently lives and works in Paris. Painting is for him a privileged method of treating images, producing as as much as it questions. Through the use of a vast repertoire of forms and signs, his work suggests possible links among the different consitutents of painting today. Developing networks of meaning, producing dynamic images, unfrozen and interactive. Pattern and motif as vectors and the canvas as screen of appearance/disappearance of the image are both elements in his work. Painting is an open space of negotiation, always in tension, always pliable.
