Florian Bezu - Madonna.

Florian Bézu

Florian Bezu’s work is a reinterpretation of motifs and materials from popular culture. By using materials that are transmuted, such as ceramic or wax, my work in 3D and on paper undergo a change of state, a shift in meaning both formal and symbolic. The works acquire in this way an ambiguity, a new materiality, solidified in time, transformed into modern relics in immediate ruins. In this post-catastrophic simalcrum, they become fragments of fictions in which the sublime is alternated with the derisory or the ephemeral.  Deadly hommages, an enigmatic parade, they reveal a strangeness that does not renounce sweetness nor enchantment.
